But let's go back in the fourth inning is when it started. Vulpi tries to steal second base.
Why This Matters
Aaron Boone gets ejected AGAIN by the same umpire Brennan Miller who was involved in the legendary 'Savages in the Box' moment. This breakdown shows Boone absolutely losing it over a terrible steal call, and Miller's weird excited energy asking for a review is absolutely unhinged.
This breakdown has 164K views and ranks #1089 all-time on the channel, proving fans still can't get enough of Boone and umpire drama.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentYou missed another one. Boon running
out. But let's go back in the fourth
inning is when it started. Vulpi tries
to steal second base. Instead, punched
out by umpire Brennan Miller. Same
umpire from Savages in the box all those
years ago. So, I don't know. There's
some history. His most famous ejection.
And Boon is just waiting, waiting,
waiting, eager, excited to get the news.
Please tell me to challenge. Please. Oh,
you dummy challenged. Never seen an
umpire ask for a review in that manner.
He's so excited to do it and also so
frustrated like you idiot. Of course,
we're challenging on you. But it's not
like Boone watched it and saw something
super egregious. So, he just is like, I
can't believe it. And it's a big punch
out. It's a big punch out by Miller. And
I think this is why the Yankees reviewed
because they saw right there and when it
looks like Vulpi's toe goes down they it
looks like he might be on the base and
that would be egregious. That would be
egregious and he would be safe. Although
from the other angle I don't think when
the tow down he hits the bag. I still
don't think he's hit the bag yet because
you can see if I go forward the bag
hasn't moved at all until around there.
If I were to zoom in uh for you, right
around there is where you can see the
bag on the heel get bumpy and has he
touched him before that point. I don't
know. This one is crazy close. And they
don't really have any definitive angle.
I think them saying the call stands is
fine. And he did punch him out in live
time very emphatically as a big punch.
Bam. UMPING'S WEIRD, HUH? BAM. LET'S
JUST BAM. That's the motion. It's so
aggressive. So Boon's just waiting. They
took a while on this one. Chomping on
the gum, waiting, getting irritated. At
this point, he's thinking, "Okay, this
is not going to get overturned." Huh.
Because that gum is just getting
chomped, getting blown. He's getting
irritated. He's all of a sudden there's
like he's getting itchy. He wants to
scratch. The hat's coming off. Blah blah
blah blah.
>> Call the field stands. THE RUNNER'S OUT.
New York will lose their talent.
Gum throw. stink. You stink.
terrible.
So mad. The hat's going up. Brows
getting furrowed. Looking around. You're
all Oh my god.
stink.
I like that he says stink. Be like, "You
freaking suck. stink." Brandon
is like, "Oh, okay. Well, A bad
call. Bear down Brandon.
>> Later on in the game, bottom of the
seventh, two outs. Yankees have a runner
on. They're up two. That is, they say,
caught for the third out again. Now the
Yankees don't have any challenges cuz
they lost their challenge. Boon looks
and he says, "Did he catch it? Let me
know just for fun." And on this one, I
think he didn't catch it. Obviously, I
have my biases as a Yankee fan. I don't
know if they would overturn it, but it
does seem to me that that ball gets gets
helped, gets smothered by the grass
there and probably gets banged into the
glove, making it easier to squeeze. I
don't know if you could say he had
complete control when it hits the ground
like that. I don't know how they ruled
that in the in the past. I don't know if
they're consistent on their ruling on
that in the past, but if they are, that
definitely hit the ground. He gets word
from his replay crew that he didn't
catch it is what he's told. And he says,
"Nice going. Good job." And he's like,
"You're out of here. Don't tell me nice
going when I know you don't mean it."
That's rude. So now he's going to run
out. Says, "You kicked another
one.
You missed another one.
You missed another one."
Yeah, he dropped the ball. Cuz
you had Well, he was safe here. Yeah,
you saw it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then
this was dropped. But I don't have a
challenge because you had a
bad call. Wide open. We
shouldn't have looked at that play. If
it was so wide open, WHY WASN'T
OVERTURNED? I HAVE NO IDEA. BUT
BECAUSE you made a bad call that you
saw cuz you were standing in
perfect position. AND NOW
THAT'S TWO NOW CUZ THAT HIT.
SHOCKED you missed it. a. Oh
boy.
That's
He was safe and he saw
it.
Come on. called him out. He wasn't even
looking
terrible. I've never seen Boon
misspeak so much. Usually he's so mad,
but he just hits every word and he's
succinct and he makes his point. He's
really hot. He's flustered. He's
starting sentences and not finishing
them and getting the new one. HE'S HOT.
WAKE UP. Do something.
Shut the You save it. I DON'T WANT TO
hear it. It's terrible.
He's mad. He's really mad. Two very
close calls that I don't know if you
can. They're hard to get in live time,
but he is He's really mad. Maybe some of
the savages in the box stuff does run
deep. Maybe he's sick of Brennan
bursting his bubble. I'll ask about it
next time he joins us on Talking Yanks.
Tune in. Every Tuesday we interview
Aaron Boon and get his thoughts on
things. Last week it was fun. Next week,
maybe it's even more
