What Happened

The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins are facing off in an intense game. In the top of the first inning, Miami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez (Pablo Lopez) takes the mound to face Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (Ronald Acuna Jr.). On the first pitch of the game, Lopez's fastball hits Acuna, who immediately reacts in pain. Braves manager Brian Snitker (Brian Snitker) quickly comes out of the dugout, furious that Acuna has been hit by a pitch for the fifth time by the Marlins this season, and the third time on the first pitch of the game. Snitker argues vehemently with the umpires, saying "That's f***ing horse s**t" and demanding that Lopez be ejected. The umpires confer and decide to eject Lopez from the game without warning. Marlins manager Don Mattingly (Don Mattingly) is outraged by the decision, arguing that the pitch was not intentional and that warnings should have been issued before any ejections. Mattingly vehemently denies that the Marlins have been intentionally hitting Acuna, saying "We haven't had any problems with these guys and that's just...that's f***ing horse s**t." He insists that Lopez was just trying to pitch Acuna up and in, as he had done in their last matchup. The umpires stand firm, however, and eject Lopez from the game. Mattingly continues to argue, telling the umpires "You can't see that that's on purpose. You can't see it." But the umpires maintain that Lopez has to go, citing the history of Marlins pitchers hitting Acuna. As the Braves and Marlins players and coaches continue to debate the controversial call, the game is delayed as the umpires work to sort out the situation. Ultimately, the Marlins are forced to turn to their bullpen early, putting them at a significant disadvantage as they try to take down the first-place Braves in this heated divisional matchup.
