Player throws ball at opponent after windmill dunk, a breakdown
What Happened
The Grand Canyon Antelopes are on the verge of clinching the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship. With just seconds remaining and a 10-point lead, the Antelopes' star player, #8 Gabe McGlothan, exclamations his team's victory with a flashy windmill dunk. However, the celebration does not sit well with two opposing players, #4 and #1 from the other team. #4 immediately reacts by angrily throwing the ball at McGlothan and his teammate. #1 then sprints down the court and aggressively confronts the Grand Canyon players, sparking a heated altercation. Recognizing the escalating situation, the Grand Canyon head coach quickly rushes onto the court, waving his arms and pleading for his players to remain calm. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, zero, zero. Get to the line. Get to the line," he shouts, trying to diffuse the tension. Meanwhile, the assistant coaches on the opposing team struggle to control their own players, with one coach hopping over chairs to reach the court and another being held back by the main assistant. The referees review the incident and determine that #1 from the opposing team is to be ejected for leaving the bench, while #4 receives a flagrant technical foul and #1 from the Grand Canyon team receives a flagrant two personal foul. The crowd erupts in cheers as the Antelopes secure the championship victory. In the aftermath, the players from both teams appear to have calmed down, with McGlothan giving a double thumbs-up gesture to indicate that he is unharmed. The Grand Canyon head coach is praised for his quick thinking and effective management of the situation, preventing the altercation from escalating further. The intense final moments of this WAC championship game showcase the high emotions and competitive nature of college basketball, with the Antelopes emerging victorious despite the heated exchange between the opposing teams.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentGrand Canyon's about to win the WAC championship.
They're up by 10.
They're playing defense.
Number two puts up a shot to cut it closer.
He misses.
Grand Canyon gets the rebound.
They don't call the foul attempt.
They toss it to eight.
Windmill dunk, exclamation point.
And number four and number one did not like that.
Number one's going to run all the way down court
and just give them a little body on the celebration.
Then four throws a ball at them.
They didn't enjoy it at all.
So, boom, bodied and then ball right at you.
Meanwhile, number eight, Grand Canyon, he's like, I'm cool.
I'm fine.
We won.
The coach's reaction time, all time.
Just a great job by the coach.
Just scoots way out there.
Hey, no, no, no, not us, not us, not us.
We got more to play for.
Not us, not us.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, zero, zero.
Get to the line.
Get to the line.
And then since Harrison was the last one there, everyone's like, it's okay, it's okay.
And he's like, I'm fine.
Guys, I'm fine.
I'm cool.
I'm good.
Double thumbs up.
All right?
Leave me alone.
The head coach for Grand Canyon did a great job keeping everyone back.
But his assistants, everyone else, they, it was sloppy.
There was some good and there was some bad.
Behind number 21 is a coach who saw the whole thing coming and he realizes, I got to get
to the front lines.
He scoots between number 33 and number one right here and then holds them back, says,
hey, don't go on the court.
I'm holding you back.
Number six came to his right, says, I'll hold you back too.
He's holding three people back.
Now he's even reaching to get number two because that coach isn't holding anyone back.
This dude's trying to hold four people back at once.
The coaches to his left and his right fail him.
The coach on the baseline, he doesn't hold anyone back.
He walks onto the court by himself.
Coach, he's got to get held back by long windspan here, but he's not holding anyone back.
Look at number one.
Number one's on the court.
Number one just walked in in that coach's absence on the court.
That's going to cost him later on.
There's a coach behind number 33.
He sees the baseline coach abandoned post.
And he's like, sure.
Shit, I got to get out there.
He's hopping over chairs, jumping over chairs to try and get number one off the court,
picking up the slack.
Now let's look at what the guy on his right did.
The guy on his right, he just runs forward.
He's got to get held back by the main assistant coach, I'm guessing,
just by where he's sitting on the bench.
He's got to get pushed back.
He's like, dude, do your job.
And then he holds back the other coach.
And that coach is like, yeah, man, I slid in your place when you abandoned as well.
So just sloppy all around by the other coaches.
Like I said, long-haired wingspan, good.
The dude who jumped two rows, good.
Those two guys, they just botched it.
The refs went through all the footage, and here's what they concluded.
We have a flagrant two personal foul on blue one.
We also have a flagrant technical on blue four.
And white one has been ejected for leaving the bench.
Come on.
White number one ejected for leaving the bench.
That's the coach on his shoulder.
He's like, that's our bad.
That's our bad, not your bad.
He didn't want to get ejected.
He just didn't have no one holding him back.
The crowd goes crazy because Grand Canyon goes on to win.
They go really crazy.
This kid's waving his tongue in the air like a lunatic.
And then we're going to cut to another kid.
The players, they're just chill.
They're cooling.
They won.
They're happy.
