LeBron yells at Dillon Brooks for spiking the ball on him, a breakdown
What Happened
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies get into a heated exchange early in the game. The two have a history of on-court confrontations, and the tension is palpable from the start. As they jockey for position, Brooks makes a physical play that draws a technical foul. Later in the game, the intensity ratchets up further. Brooks drives to the hoop, and as the ball gets stripped up in the air, he bats it down. LeBron James takes issue with Brooks' actions, yelling at him, "Yo, hey yo yo, chill the [ __ ] out with that. Chill the [ __ ] out with that bullshit." The referees quickly intervene to separate the two players. LeBron is clearly agitated, removing his mouthguard to emphasize his point. "He spiked the ball on my [ __ ] head. He spiked," LeBron exclaims. "No, I'm not. HE SPIKED THE [ __ ] BALL ON MY [ __ ] HEAD. NO. [ __ ] THAT." The referees review the play, and one official explains, "The ball is loose. Brooks makes contact with the ball, but nothing intentional. James aggressively approaches him who was given an unsportsmanlike technical foul." Despite the officials' assessment, LeBron remains adamant that Brooks intentionally spiked the ball on his head, a "hostile act" in his eyes. The exchange underscores the intense rivalry and history between the two players, who have a reputation for physical, competitive matchups. As the game continues, the tension only escalates. Brooks later bangs into LeBron, leading to his ejection from the contest. The confrontation between the two NBA stars captivates the crowd and sparks heated debate among fans and analysts alike, who dissect the play and question the officials' call. Ultimately, the incident encapsulates the passion and intensity that makes the NBA such a captivating spectacle, with two of the league's fiercest competitors clashing in a high-stakes battle on the hardwood.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentLeBron James and Dylan Brooks got into
it for the eenth time. This breakdown's
brought to you by DraftKings early in
the game. They're hanging out with each
other. LeBron once did the two small
gesture to Brooks. Brooks called him
old. They got a lot of beef. They're
banging around in the middle there, just
constantly banging. Brooks actually got
a technical there. And you're right at
the start of the game. JJ Reic is
thinking, "This is phenomenal for us,
but I can't show it. So, I'm just going
to look around angrily at everything."
And later in the game is when the real
action happens. Brooks has the ball.
He's driving down trying to find some
space. Ball gets stripped up in the air.
He bats it down. LeBron says, "Yo, hey
yo yo, chill the [ __ ] out with that.
Chill the [ __ ] out with that bullshit."
And then the refs come break it up. And
he's like, "Well, why you breaking up?
Why you breaking up?" No. Do you guys
see what the [ __ ] he did? And then
realizes he's got to take his mouth
guard off because this is important. And
that means the refs really have to
listen because he's talking with a clear
mouth. He says, "He spiked the ball on
my [ __ ] head. He spiked." No, I'm
not. HE SPIKED THE [ __ ] BALL ON MY
[ __ ] HEAD. NO. [ __ ] THAT.
He spiked the ball on my [ __ ] head.
Come on. [ __ ] WHAT? What did he do?
What? I missed it. Whoa. He know exactly
what the [ __ ] he did, dog. Yeah, this
lady just laughing saying, "I don't
think it hit your head, LeBron. I had a
really good view." No, watch. Show the
replay. He's looking up. Brook's like,
"Shit, let me see this replay." He's
like, "Yeah, it was a hostile act. Show
that damn replay."
>> Dead ball interaction under possible
hostile act.
>> Oh my god. Possible hostile act. Let's
take a look at this. So, there's the
foul, which they end up calling, but uh
Luca does reach in and hit his hand and
the ball with does strip it. Then the
ball's up in the air and LeBron goes to
swat it and then Brooks goes to swat it.
Maybe he's trying to keep it in bounds,
but the whistle has blown and he does
hit the ball and it hits LeBron in the
back. Definitely. I think he was hitting
that ball into LeBron to be a pest and
to annoy him. I think he has a quote
saying, "I poke bears." Which he means
LeBron. And that's that. So, what do you
think? Did he spike the ball on LeBron's
[ __ ] head? Did he try to? I don't
know. There's the foul and then there's
the miss and the spike. And then
something that really fascinated me was
Allen on the Suns is going to come in on
the left of screen and he looks straight
up like a video game character. Just
looks like the way he walks in looks
like NPC video game character. And then
look at look at Glepsy and Allen both
turn their head at the same time. And if
you focus just on those guys, it just to
me, like the way he runs in, his arms
are dangling, it just looks like a video
game guy, the way a video game character
would run in and not be a real person.
Uh, LeBron's all over the ref. That was
something everyone's talking about.
Like, you can't grab an official. And at
this point, I mean, LeBron's grabbing
this official's arm. You got to
remember, this official is just a normal
ass dude. And LeBron is a giant
and strong, you know, crumble this
referee. That ref might have a bruise.
He's old. Old people bruise easy. Maybe
he's not that old. I was also wondering
if he had a toupe on. From some angles,
it look like that. Uh cuz I had I had a
ref, fourth grade referee, uh ball hit
him in the head. His toupe fell on the
court. So now I just picture all
referees with two pays on their heads.
And it's a better time. You should try
it.
>> Rolling on the court was a defensive
foul on Don. So Brooks will shoot two
free throws during the dead ball. The
ball is loose. Brooks Brooks makes
contact with the ball, but nothing
intentional. James aggressively
approaches him who was given an
unsportsmanlike technical foul.
>> How awesome is that? This official was
just like, "Yeah, the ball was loose."
Well, it wasn't intentional. And then
James was all aggressive about it. He's
kind of like gossiping on Mike.
>> But nothing intentional. James
aggressively approaches him. It was
given an unsportsmanlike technical foul.
Phoenix will shoot one free throw. Then
Brooks will shoot two free throw. Will
play off the make or miss.
>> Wow. Oh, that's not intentional.
There's no [ __ ] way. What are you
doing? LeBron's like, "Uh,
that's not intentional.
Jesus Christ. Come on." Well, anyway, he
makes the first one. Nice. And then he
makes the second one. And then makes the
third. So, he gets his three, but he
does bang into LeBron later on in the
game and get ejected, I think. And if
I'm wrong, hopefully it got edited out.
And that's everything that happened with
LeBron and Brooks and the ball that got
spiked onto his [ __ ] back back
shoulder area. Thanks for tuning in.
Thanks to DraftKings for sponsoring
this. Make sure you take it to all your
basketball friends and say, "Check out
this basketball video." He's not a
basketball guy. He's usually a baseball
guy, but he made this basketball video.
And check it out.
