Somersaults, Bat Flops and Clubbies, Summer Camp has been a ton of fun, a breakdown
What Happened
Francisco Lindor of the Cleveland Guardians steps up to the plate against teammate Trevor Clevenger. Clevenger fires a fastball right down the middle and Lindor absolutely crushes it. The catcher can barely look at Lindor as he rounds the bases, with Clevenger laughing and enjoying the show. As Lindor reaches third base, he decides to have a little fun, executing a perfect somersault onto the bag and saluting his teammate. The press box is in awe, with one commentator exclaiming, "What's he gonna do next?" Over in the Chicago White Sox camp, shortstop Tim Anderson, the self-proclaimed "bat flip champion of the south," is at it again. Anderson smokes a ball and tosses his bat high in the air, but teammate Luis Robert tries to one-up him with an even bigger bat flip. However, Robert's enthusiasm gets the better of him and he ends up tripping and dropping the bat as he rounds the bases. The fun continues at the Los Angeles Dodgers' camp, where a veteran outfielder nicknamed "Chico" is making his presence felt. When Chris Taylor tries to tag up and score from third base, Chico uncorks a rifle throw from deep in left field, gunning down Taylor at the plate. Taylor is left shaking his head, realizing he just got schooled by the experienced clubhouse veteran. Chico's throw is so impressive that the Dodgers' pitching coach, Ross Stripling, requests that Chico be his left fielder for the next game. Throughout the video, the players are clearly enjoying themselves and embracing the carefree atmosphere of summer camp. Whether it's Lindor's playful somersault, Anderson and Robert's bat-flipping antics, or Chico's cannon-like arm, the young and veteran players alike are having a blast and providing plenty of entertainment for their teammates and the coaching staff.
