Team USA blows another World Baseball Classic final, a breakdown

Next pitch, same thing. Low in the zone

after those hits him with the change up.

94 mile per hour change up. They love it

in the crowd. They love it on the bench.

Oh my god. Are we going to do high

fives. Please keep giving more high

fives to the next batter. The first

pitch is a little cutter. I don't know

what they call that, but cutter breaking

ball. But strike one, throwing strikes,

pounding the zone. Then the change up

away. Out number two. And before we move

on, let me show you what he just did.

away from him. Look at the tunneling.

They call it when they come out of the

same slot and they mirror each other for

a long time. At that point, which one is

it? Is it going towards him or away from

him? is right in the middle of the zone

and then they just spread apart.

Wild and awesome pitching. Now, Robert

Andrew Wit Jr. steps up to the plate and

he's going to get a a ball. A ball. Look

at this. That's a strike. Umpire called

it a ball. Salvi's like, "Uh, blue." Uh,

if I move the batter over, there's his

knees. There's the plate. But it's a

ball. And that's fine. Not really, but

crazy. Next pitch, it breaks inside.

Says, "Calm down, dude. Two and 0." Then

tries to go low and away again. Misses

it again. They want that pitch. They

don't get it. Tries to do it again.

Misses again. The US has a base runner.

The tying run comes to the plate in the

name of Bryce Aaron Max Harper. The

first, and he hasn't done a ton with the

bat in the World Baseball Classic to

this point. Pitching coach comes out,

says, "Dude, just keep pounding the

zone. You're unhitable when you pound

the zone. Just throw strikes." First

pitch below the zone. One and0. Now

Harper says, "I think I might sit on

that change up." This dude loves that

change up. He's throwing that change up.

Throws the change up. Comes in the zone

cuz it was five straight balls. Harper

sends it out of the zone in a hurry. The

game is tied. The US has life. Pitching

coach lied to me. Told me just throw it

in the zone. I'm mad. The crowd's going

nuts. USA. USA. We've done it. Holds up

the three fingers to the bullpen.

Salutes around third. He's going to look

to his arm. Is that the flag? No, that's

Capital One. Is that the new American

flag? No. It must be on my other arm.

Let me see. There it is. US, baby.

That's who we're playing for. That's

right. Oh, YEAH.

OKAY. All of his teammates waiting for

him. Judge says, "CALM DOWN. LET'S GO."

BAM. TIE GAME. NOW, let's take the lead

and win it and do more and get more

hits. They're fired up. The hair looks

great even though it's been in a helmet.

There's the change up grip. You can see

his pointer finger and his thumb are

making a circle on the outside. His

weaker fingers are on the ball. You take

the power finger off. You exchange it

for the fingers with less power. And you

just let that ride. Only thing, too much

of the zone, and Harper was ready for

it. smacks it, watches it, throws the

bat. PCA almost ran under the bat. Picks

it up. D. Roa is fired up. Goldie's

fired up. These guys are fired up. USA.

USA. Uh, this guy can't can't bear to

watch. I'm not watching what happens

next. You just tell me. It's Judge. He's

up. Okay. Now, first pitch. Let's show

him something we don't like. Let's show

him the slider away. It's high cutter

slider. I don't know. Then perfect

change up. follows the perfect change up

with another perfect change up. Now he's

got two strikes. He says, "I can't hear

you. What do you want me to throw?

Sorry, my thing wasn't working." Salvi

comes out. He says, "Dude, throw that

perfect change up again. It's perfect."

So, just throw it a third time.

He think we'll go away from it. Let's

just go. And there it is. Strike three.

Those three pitches are crazy. Watch.

One, two, three. Three different

pitches, all the same pitch. How crazy

is that? That is so consistent. A low

and in change up is a very good pitch.

To hit your spot that perfectly,

that consistently is wild and

impressive. So, good for you, Machado.

That's awesome. All right, let's go.

Now, US has to hold him here. Whitlocks

in and arises up. 2-1 count becomes 3-1

becomes ball four. The go-ahehead run is

on base in Luis Sanel Arise. And now

Venezuela, they're not even worried.

Okay, we're going to pinch run. We got

speed on. He says, "What's up, Bryce?"

Bryce says, "I can't talk to you. It's

against my rules." Okay, we're playing

baseball here. Please. Now Akuna's on

the bench saying, "Dude, take a bigger

lead. Take a bigger lead." AND NOW GO

RUN. RUN. And on the third pitch, he

runs. He steals second. Now the go-ahead

run is on second base. That's the

beautiful sport of baseball. They say

we're going to challenge it. It's very

close. Like it's crazy close. When does

the glove touch? When does the foot

touch? The glove is touching there. Did

the foot already touch? Let's go

backwards a little. It's crazy close.

When does the No, I'm looking at just

the foot. When does the foot touch? For

sure. Positively the foot touches.

There is like positive. You can see the

base shift right there and the glove has

touched already, but the spikes could be

touching before that. If you need 100%

to overturn, I don't know if I have it

there. And then from this angle, Terra

makes the scoop, puts the tag on. Is the

back of the heel touching the base

there? Is the glove touching? You'd have

to sync him up. Who knows? They don't

overturn anything. They love saying call

stands.

goes dick facing him like he's just

closes up. And then he swings at the

change up but misses it. And then he

swings at the change up but misses it.

And then kind of kind of not ready for

the fast ball at all. Kind of like,

whoa, okay, that snuck up on me. I've

been swinging at the change up. I'm

ready for the change up. You threw this

fast ball. I know it was high and in,

but also my timing was off. So they go

back to the change up and he smokes it.

They go back to the change up that he

was swinging at the whole bat and he

smokes it. They didn't stick with the

fast ball that he kind of wasn't timing

up and he hits a double and now

Venezuela has the lead and there was no

dramas about it really. and he thanks

the big man upstairs and he says thank

you in your name I do all of this glory

be to you and thank you and um big god

guy and here he is just throw me that

change up he eyes it the whole time and

just smokes it the dugout loves it

toar's up and out they're all up and out

doesn't move stays his place knows his

role okay they've got the lead now one

run they held him there but US is down

one Venezuela's up one three more outs

and they win now pitching for Venezuela

is Daniel Jesus Palencio. And unlike

Machado, he's going to work the top of

the zone. Fast ball gets him to chase.

Now he throws the change up off of that

up top. Back to the fast ball up top.

Blows it by him. One, two, three, four.

Two outs to go. The crowd loves it.

VENEZUELA,

we're dancing. Get this. Two more. Get

him. Get him. Get him. Bam. Just right

by him. Watch the ump cam of this.

Another lefty. They go up top again and

then inside with the fast ball. They get

the pop up. Oh my goodness. US is down

to their last out. Get on your feet.

Here we go. Everyone get up. Cheer for

Everyone's on their feet. Venezuela, are

they going to do it? What a story. Have

never won before. just kept winning and

winning and coming from behind and their

pitching was nasty. It's closing in on

the US team. Harper Judge, they all look

on worried. Novice biting their nails.

It's all ending. The young kid Roman

Anony's up. Can he be a hero? Too young

and dumb to know the situation. That's

what they say. That's the narrative they

usually run. Fast ball for a strike. He

wanted that as a ball. And then oh my

god a little two seamer change up in

like he wants to chuck it up in the air

here, but realizes people are running

out. Holds on to it. Fist bumps. Drops
