Stoinis laughs in Jaiswal's face after runout, a breakdown
What Happened
In a crucial match between India and Australia, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis of the Australian team finds himself in an intense confrontation with young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The stakes are high as the teams battle for supremacy on the cricket pitch. The action unfolds in the early stages of the innings, with Jaiswal, the talented Indian opener, having already scored 10 runs off just 4 deliveries. His opening partner, Guy Quad, has yet to face a single ball, eager to get in on the action. As Stoinis runs in to deliver the fifth ball of the over, he pauses momentarily, citing a disturbance from a fan in the crowd. With the play resuming, Jaiswal manages to guide the ball over the infield, and both batters find themselves in no-man's land, caught in the middle of the pitch. As the players touch down at the crease, Quad's body language suggests a sense of frustration, wondering if he should have attempted to return to his end. Jaiswal, on the other hand, seems eager to continue batting, his focus solely on the ball. The turning point comes when Stoinis, the Australian all-rounder, erupts in a fit of laughter, directly in Jaiswal's face. "Ha!" he exclaims, high-fiving his teammates and staring down the young Indian batter. This blatant act of unsportsmanlike conduct adds insult to injury, further compounding the disappointment felt by Jaiswal and the Indian team. The incident begs the question: is there any other sport where a player can be dismissed without even stepping onto the field of play? , the renowned sports analyst, ponders this unique aspect of cricket, highlighting the unfairness of the situation and the potential for such incidents to occur. As the match progresses, the teams will undoubtedly look to bounce back from this moment, with both sides determined to emerge victorious. Click timestamps to jump to that momentThis is an aspect of cricket that sucks, and I don't know if there's a comparison in other sports.
I'm going to need your guys' help on that. India versus Australia. This breakdown is brought to
you by DraftKings. Jaiswal has scored 10 runs off of four balls. His opening partner, Guy Quad,
has not faced a ball. Zero runs off of zero balls. He hasn't gotten into the game yet.
He's just been standing on the other side as Jaiswal has two dots, a four and a six.
So he still hasn't seen anything yet. Stoinis is running down to throw the fifth ball of the
over, and he says, hold up. Something, some fan moved. Someone's in my way, and Stoinis is like
rolling his eyes at that. Like, all right, dude. Okay, sure. We'll do it over again. No problem.
And this one he puts in play, pops it over the infield. Outfielder's going to track it down,
grab it, throw it in, and oh, they're both caught in the middle in no man's land,
and his partner gets run out.
Guy Quad is now out. I think I'm saying his name right. Probably not. And he hasn't faced a single
ball. He didn't even get to play, and his day is over, and Jaiswal's like, is that my fault?
Did I do that? He's like, yeah, it did. So is there any other sport where you can just have
your day done before doing anything without injury or without your coach subbing you out
or anything, and nothing that you did wrong to deserve this?
Did your partner just hung you out to dry? I don't know if it exists, and here's what happened.
They run down, and then look. You can see his partner as they touch. He looks at him like,
do you want to come back? And Jaiswal's feeling good. He wants to come back and stay on strike,
or he's got eyes on the ball. The other dude doesn't, and he's waiting for him,
and Jaiswal's like, yeah, let's run, let's run. And then Jaiswal kind of, Stoinis kind of like
makes him stutter step a little bit, so maybe he thinks,
that slows him down. He throws the hand up like, no, never mind, never mind, we're not going to run.
And at that point, he's left his teammate out to dry in the middle, and he's like upset about it.
But, you know, he gets to still hit, so he's not that upset. They stump him, and you can see his
partner is like, what the fuck, dude? So they're touching down, and he's waiting for him. Yeah,
you want to come? You want me to come? Okay, we're going. No, we're what? Dude, what the fuck?
Hangs him out to dry. And then the make matters worse, Stoinis laughs in his face.
Ha! I mean, just hyena laughs. Ha! Right in his face. That's pretty, downright seems rude.
High fives, gums popping out, just laughs right in his face, stares him down a little extra.
I mean, add insult to injury, but not injury, add insult to,
uh, bad running, and that's what you get. This breakdown was brought to you by DraftKings.
Thank you to DraftKings for sponsoring the breakdowns. I appreciate you.
I'm going on vacation. I'll see you in a week and a half or so.
