Joc Pederson hits a home run vs Hunter Strickland in Game 1 of the NLDS, a breakdown
What Happened
In Game 1 of the National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers are facing off against the Washington Nationals. It's a tight game, with the Dodgers holding a narrow lead late. In the top of the 9th inning, Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson steps to the plate against Nationals reliever Hunter Strickland. Pederson takes the first pitch for a strike, then fouls off the next offering from Strickland. The at-bat is a battle, with Pederson clearly dialed in and Strickland trying to put him away. Strickland tries a nasty changeup, but Pederson lays off. On the next pitch, Pederson fouls it back, but has a confident smirk on his face, indicating he feels he can handle Strickland's stuff. The count moves to 1-2 and Strickland goes back to the fastball, but Pederson is all over it, straightening it out for a foul ball. Strickland tries to sneak another heater past Pederson, but the Dodgers slugger is locked in. He unleashes a mighty swing and the ball rockets off his bat, clanging off the foul pole for a towering solo home run. Pederson pumps his fist and shouts "Oh yeah!" as he rounds the bases. His Dodgers teammates meet him at home plate, celebrating the big blast that extends Los Angeles' lead. Pederson then takes a victory lap, high-fiving fans along the first base line as the crowd erupts in cheers. "Let's f***ing go!" Pederson exclaims, clearly fired up by his heroics. The home run was a dagger to the Nationals' hopes, as the Dodgers go on to win the game and take a 1-0 series lead. Pederson's performance was a clutch one and he has established himself as a key contributor for the Dodgers in their quest to advance deeper into the playoffs.

right where he wants him but he can't
put him away and I think there was no

one two they go back to the off-speed
and he cranks that one again he
straightens it out a little bit but
still foul he's all over these pitches I
don't know why they go to the fastball
here because he's so ahead of your
off-speed and then you throw the
fastball you're just straightening out
his at-bat and barely straightens it out
