Click timestamps to jump to that momentThe World Baseball Classic has provided
a ton of entertainment so far. The
emotions, the crowd, everything has been
awesome. And there's been some stuff
that I never seen before that I'm
surprised I haven't seen. So, we got
Great Britain versus Mexico and Ian
Lewis Jr. up for Great Britain. He's
actually from the Bahamas, I believe.
This breakdown is brought to you by
Total Baseball World Baseball Classic
Edition. That's our podcast, our show
where we're covering the World Baseball
Classic. Go check it out because it's
awesome. They take the picture out. They
say, "That's it. You gave up a single,
you're done. They bring a new pitcher
in. He's got long hair, very straight.
He, thanks God, he drops the ball in his
glove. Now we've got Trace Thompson up,
smoldering, staring at him. First pitch,
swings right through it. Now the next
pitch, he's getting ready. They throw a
pickoff. The camera guy's late to
switch. And now our guy at first base is
hurt, Ian Lewis Jr., he got the he got
hit right in the arm. So that hurts.
It's an eventful trip around the bases.
We're going to get to the main thing
that I haven't seen, but I just got to
let you know how everything's unfolding
because his arm hurts and that's of
note. It's not really of note. It's not.
It was just kind of interesting. Next
pitch outside one and one count. The
1-1. A little hanging breaking ball type
thing. Hits it to left field and the
runner is going to go from first to
third on a ball to shallow left. That's
heart and hustle. He was running on the
pitch. Now they appeal that he missed
second base. Again, the camera operator
doesn't show us what's happening. They
call him out. We just know this from the
announcers and what's going on. And
they're like, "Wait, wait. What is safe?
I thought it was safe. I know the
sport." And he's saying, "No, I touched
it with my fingertips. I hope the
cameras are going to see it because I
know I touched it, but I didn't touch
second base with my feet. They're
correct there." So they say, "Okay,
let's challenge." Say, "Yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah. We believe our guy. I hope.
We're going to challenge it." Mexico's
like, "What are they challenging?" He
says, "No, come on. Let's take a look."
Hopefully it shows up because I swear it
touched. He's stealing on the pitch, so
he's going to slide into second base,
but he realizes the ball got hit. So,
he's got to pop up really quick before
the base as fast as he can and then he
touches the base with his fingers. I've
never seen that. The coach says, "HEY,
HE TOUCHED IT. HE touched it." He's
like, "Yep, he's pumped up." Yep, bro. I
swear I touched that bag. You seeing it,
right? I swear they c they got to see it
in the replay. And yeah, look. I mean,
just
fingertips. Kevin Coer movie. The
Guardian. Is that what it's called? He's
like nothing but his fingertips. Six
hours. I forget the line. It's dramatic.
Quote it below. I'll pin it maybe. HEY,
great job. Jazz Chisum before they even
make the call. Jazz Chisum who's up next
runner in third. He's like, I'm ready to
go. No one else is on the field at all.
And Jazz is just like, I'm going to get
ready for my app bat. Clearly, we got
fingertips all over the bag. After
review, the call on the field is
overturned.
Uh, yes. Good job. Thank you. So now
we've got a runner on third. They dumped
all their adrenaline. They got off the
field. The Rams heading out the right
field. They were ready to hit. They're
not ready for this. The fans got to
rally him back into action. Come on,
guys. Come on, guys. Let's go. He's
leading off third. It's two outs. We got
a 1-1 count. We got first and third. We
got Jazz up. We got a one count. Come
on. Give me a pitch to hit. Give me a
pitch to hit. Give me a pitch to drive.
We want it up. We want this fast ball
up. It's not that up. Jazz bolts it into
Duran's glove. So, ultimately, this
didn't amount to much, but I thought I'd
share it with you because I'd never seen
someone do a pop-up slide and just touch
the base with their fingertips like
that. You know, you've seen someone
touch it with their hands, but just by
the little fingertips. Anyway, Jose
McFly and the kid Mero have been doing
World Baseball Classic shows, recapping
the events. It's a lot of energy, just
like the World Baseball Classic. It's a
lot of fun. Check it out if you want to
tune in and find out what's going on and
be part of it. So carnival basically.
