Dennis Gilbert and Gabriel Landeskog drop the gloves, a breakdown
What Happened
In a clash between two veteran players, Dennis Gilbert of the Chicago Blackhawks and Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche drop the gloves in an intense on-ice altercation. The action unfolds in the first and third periods of the game. Early in the first period, Dennis Gilbert delivers a big hit on Gabriel Landeskog, laying him out on the ice. Later in the third period, Landeskog sees Gilbert and seeks retribution, approaching him aggressively. "I'm going to get my revenge and I'm going to scare the fuck out of these two little kids," Landeskog says. The two players then engage in a fight, with Landeskog initially holding Gilbert down and asserting his dominance. "Get what you pay for," Landeskog tells the two young players watching nearby. Gilbert then stands up and the two players drop their gloves, ready to exchange blows. Gilbert seems caught off guard at first, but quickly gains better hand positioning, jabbing at Landeskog with his left hand. He attempts an uppercut, but misses, taking a hit to the helmet from Landeskog in return. The crowd, particularly an excited woman in the front row, cheers on the action. Gilbert lands a few more punches to Landeskog's helmet, busting up his own knuckles in the process. Both players struggle to land clean shots, with several swings and misses. As the fight winds down, Gilbert and Landeskog fall into each other and the referees step in to separate them, signaling the end of the confrontation. While the fight may have appeared intense from the outside, that it ultimately amounted to "nothing," with neither player landing any significant blows. The refs step in, tapping the players and saying, "Okay, good job, boys. Good job," as the crowd disperses, the drama of the moment fading.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentAll right. I'm somewhat getting back into the swing of things. This was in the
suggestion box. No idea how old this is, but Gilbert lays out Landeskog there. That
was in the first period. Now, later on in the third period, he sees him
on the ice and he's like, I'm going to get my revenge and I'm going
to scare the fuck out of these two little kids. Get what you pay for.
They got a nice fright. Then he's just going to keep Gilbert on the ground,
let him know. And then, okay, let's drop gloves. Oh yeah, let's do it. That
guy's like, kids, kids, look, that girl on the front row is excited. Gilbert actually,
you know, he wasn't ready, but he has better hand position right away. Cause he's
got that left right there. Just kind of jabbing goes for the uppercut misses, then
gets a knuckle full of plastic right there. That lady is getting really into it.
She wants to see some dude fuck up another dude, another punch right to the
helmet from Gilbert. And then another attempt at an uppercut misses and nothing's really happened
here. Besides Gilbert's really busted up his knuckles on Landeskog's head. That punch punch kind
of falls short. That punch misses that punch misses and uppercut their little puppet
shot and misses kind of, and then they fall on each other. And that's the
end of that one. And the refs tap them and say, okay, good job, boys.
Good job. And everyone gets really excited because on the outside, it looked like a
good fight, but when you dove in, like most of these kind of nothing.
