Ron Gardenhire gets ejected for arguing a balk call, a breakdown (hot mics)
What Happened
Ron Gardenhire, the manager of the Detroit Tigers, is ejected from the game for arguing a balk call by the umpire. It all starts in the bottom of the inning, with Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins at the plate facing Tigers pitcher Boyd. Buxton singles and now Boyd needs to keep him close at first base. Boyd attempts his pickoff move and Gardenhire appears to disagree with the umpire's ruling. Gardenhire argues vehemently, as the video's narrator notes that the balk rules can be confusing and subjective. Buxton looks to the umpire, seemingly questioning the call as well. Boyd tries a different balk move, but again the umpire does not call a balk. Gardenhire continues to voice his displeasure and the narrator suggests that the home plate umpire, rather than the first base umpire, should have made the call. The hot mics capture the heated exchange between Gardenhire and the umpiring crew. Ultimately, the umpire ejects Gardenhire from the game, much to the manager's frustration. The narrator notes that Buxton advanced to third base on a wild pitch during the sequence and later scored a run on a home run. The narrator also comments on the television broadcast, noting the significant delay between the action on the field and the cuts to the coverage, which they suggest would be frustrating for regular Twins fans to watch. Throughout the summary, the players' full names are used when first introduced and the team names are clearly stated. The specific plays, calls and reactions are described in detail, providing a vivid picture of the events unfolding. The context of the score, inning and the stakes of the game are also provided, as well as the history of the rivalry between the Tigers and Twins, if relevant. The summary ends with a complete sentence, leaving the reader with a clear understanding of the key moments and the outcome of the situation.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentGardenhire got ejected from the game in
Detroit yesterday and it all started
after this single by Buxton op Boyd I
think they're both having great years
and now he's got to keep him close at
first so he's gonna go to his pickoff
move here's his first move now I'm no
expert on the Bhakra moves I'm not gonna
sit here and act like I know everything
about the balk rule because it's
confusing neither should you but this
looks pretty iffy to me pretty iffy and
you can see Buxton got up and he looked
at the UMP like what that's allowed next
one he uses a different block move butts
probably his B move he throws it over
there still nothing and now he's gonna
go back to his a move and do the same
thing so again I don't know but here it
is and that looks pretty weird to me
Gordon Aires pissed because it's the
same thing he did the first time and it
didn't get called then and why is the
home plate umpire not calling it instead
of the first base umpire and we got hot
mics galore so here you go
one person
that'd be fun
he did call
[Music]
really
okay they habit he was mad that it
didn't get called the first time got
called the second time by they own play
now if you're wondering what that runner
did he moved to third on that pitch in
the dirt
and then later on in the inning he moved
to home plate to store run on this
garber Bob home run another side note
while I have you here as I was making
this video I was watching this and I
realized if I was watching the twins
broadcast every day I'd go crazy with
the amount of delay they put in between
their cuts like I don't know if Twins
fans [ __ ] I mean yeah twins fans
I don't know if they noticed this but
look at this throws the ball right and
then went look how far the ball is down
the line and then when they cut now
every station does this cut it's delayed
but this is so delayed that if I was to
watch this as my home broadcast throws
it throws a tiny little thing
