Nick Swisher gets diced up by Blitzball pitcher, a breakdown
What Happened
Former MLB player Nick Swisher steps up to the plate to face a Blitzball pitcher. Swisher looks confident, telling the pitcher he's "got this figured out." However, the Blitzball pitcher proves to be a formidable opponent, looping a curveball right over the plate. Swisher's former MLB teammates are seen laughing at his inability to hit the off-speed pitch. The pitcher follows up with a two-seam screwball that fools Swisher, resulting in a called strike two. Swisher looks frustrated, saying "get me the hell out of your" as he strikes out. The announcer marvels at the pitcher's ability to make the Blitzball do "so many crazy things" with its unique movement. In his next at-bat, Swisher's stepson steps up and manages to get a hit, flipping his bat and high-stepping down the line after driving in a run to give his team the lead. The pitcher then takes the mound, using a similar two-seam pitch that the professional pitchers would throw. However, he gives up a hit that sends a ball ricocheting off the bag of balls. With the bases loaded and only one out, the pitcher struggles, walking in a run. Swisher steps up again, this time batting lefty. The pitcher says he'll just have Swisher foul back the first pitch and then try to get him chasing high stuff, which is exactly what happens as Swisher strikes out again. In Swisher's final at-bat, the pitcher throws another two-seamer to the third baseman, who boots the easy play. Swisher finishes the day 1-for-4 with two strikeouts and an RBI. The announcer notes that despite his struggles, Swisher likely had the most fun out of anyone.
