Jose Bautista hits a bomb after the Orioles throw behind him, a breakdown
What Happened
In 2015, Jose Bautista hit a home run after Orioles pitcher Adam Jones threw behind his back, leading to a heated exchange between the two players. Later in the same game, Bautista hit another home run after the Orioles pitcher threw behind his back again, prompting a warning from the umpire and frustration from the Blue Jays manager.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentJose Bautista and Adam Jones just
yelling at each other middle of the
field. This one was requested by DJ B.
He said, "I would really love a
breakdown of the Adam Jones vers Jose
Bautista incident back in 2015." Well,
thank you for the suggestion and thank
you to the Tasty 2026. They are
sponsoring this video. More on that
later. Starts with a flashback. We're
going back to 2013. Says Darren OD. He
strikes out Bautista and skips off the
mound. Then Joey Bats didn't like they
just say what what you say what what you
say with all that skipping next at bat
rocks a homer a line drive round third
says keep talking buddy that's what
happens then two years later 2015 but
earlier in the season in Baltimore he
throws behind Batista's back he doesn't
like that at all responds with another
home run and skips to his l touches home
plate and boom so that brings us to the
game being requested Toronto's up 11 to4
Four. Jones has two runners on. He can
drive them in. Make it 11 to six game.
Start chipping away in the seven. Thinks
he's got one in the hole. Polar says no
way. Not only catches it, he doubles him
up for an inning ending double play. Is
this part of the big main storyline? No.
But you got to tip your hat to good
plays when you can. And you got to share
Mr. Glove. Adam Jones not happy about
it. He either says he's [ __ ] killing
me talking about Polar or just [ __ ]
kidding me. You guys choose what do you
think he said? Maybe he said [ __ ] a
man. I don't know. There a lot of
options there. Uh again, just what a
great full extension lays out Superman
grab from Polar and then gets up and
doubles up his guy again. That had
nothing to do with the story line. Story
line starts now. Donaldson comes up
bottom of the seventh inning. Staring,
staring, concentrating, gets his pitch,
hits it into left field. Boom. So he has
got an inning opening double and that
brings up Bautista. Now first base is
open if they want to do that. First
pitch right down the middle. Next pitch
behind his back and he just looks at
him. Umpire say hey. Now the runners
advance because a pass ball and they all
kind of got confused. Umpire says that's
a warning. Okay. And you guys are warned
too because you have to give out
warnings to both. Oh no. Come on. What?
I mean Gibbons is pissed. Why are we
getting a warning? He's going to really
get in his face. That's [ __ ] man.
You know, we got a warning. He throws
the ball behind his back and there's a
lot of mfers here and it was just it's a
lot of heat. He's just mad. And Buck
Shelter's chilling. He's just chilling.
He's like, "All right, well, okay.
Here's a replay. Let's take a look at
the grip before he releases it. It is
It's a two seamer. He's got in the
railway there. So, it's going to have
armside run, and it just has a lot of
armside run on purpose. Mistake. Jerry
Bats doesn't care. He just kind of looks
at him like, "Oh my god, man. Now I have
to hit a home run off you." We're
already winning by so much. It's going
to be brutal for your career. Damn,
you're making me do that. Manager walks
back to his dugout. Buck Shalter gets on
the phone. Yeah, probably going to need
someone up. And then Gibbons in the
dugout, turns. Hey guys, watch this. We
got a 3-1 count now. What are you
getting? 3-1 counts. Fast balls gone,
demolished. Is Batista the best revenge
batter we've ever seen? Flips the bat,
starts rounding the bases. I think the
Orioles players were like, "Hey, it
wasn't on purpose." He says, "Fuck you,
[ __ ]
[ __ ] you. Not on purpose, I bet.
Enjoy this. I'mma touch third. High
fives. Round home. I'm going to step on
home plate and I'mma stare into your
dugout. Huh? What's that about? MY
TEAMMATES LOVE IT. GOD DAMN IT. YOU'RE A
GODDAMN LEGEND.
GODAMN IT. I LOVE IT.
And who wouldn't? I mean, let's fast
forward right down the middle. He stares
at that a long time, watches it fly,
looks at the pitcher. That's what you
get. Flips the bat, jugs his water,
refreshes, licks the lips, feels good.
Now, the inning ends when Adam Jones
makes the final out. So, Jones is going
to be running off the field, and
Bautista is going to be running on the
field. Now, here they are. You can see I
lit up Jones in uh red on the right and
you're going to see Bautista running on
the field in the left for all those that
like just visuals. How far away are
they? Where are they actually standing?
This is the scene between innings and
you got Adam Jones who turns and he's
saying something to Bautista and
Bautista stops and he's talking and
there's there they are. That's the
points now where they're talking and
they're going to have a conversation but
they're not really responding to each
other in kind. It feels like no one's
listening. That's not throwing behind
you intentionally. That's [ __ ] HE'S
NOT THROWING BEHIND
YOU. [ __ ] NOW. [ __ ] THROWING BEHIND YOU
NOW. [ __ ] HE'S NOT [ __ ] THROWING
BEHIND YOU.
>> [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] you.
>> He not trying to hit you. Go tell them.
Go tell him. GO [ __ ] TELL THEM. DON'T
TELL ME. Go tell them. Go tell them. I'm
going to field. I also love the Canadian
fans chirping as soon as Adam Jones
started yelling. Oh, keep talking,
buddy. Hey, bud. Hey, just take your
[ __ ] and go.
Keep talking.
Sit your ass down. Mixed messages. One
guy wants him to keep talking. Keep
talking, buddy. And the other guy says,
"Hey, bud. Just take your [ __ ] and go."
And then the other guy says, "No, no,
no, no, no, no. I want you to stay here
and keep talking. And the guy's like,
"No, I disagree with my friend. Sit your
ass down." And this woman is just like,
"What's happening?" And her the guy
she's with looks around. He's like, "I
don't know." They were like talking over
each other. It's hard for me to hear.
And if that's how you feel and you want
to just hear the isolated uh Bautista
and Jones yelling and lip reading, here
you go. Sometimes I can't decide. Is it
better just to show them isolated or is
it fun to have them yell over each
other? So today I'm giving you both.
Here's Bautista isolated. Runs out to
the field, sees Jones turn and yell at
him. He says, "That's [ __ ]
That's [ __ ] That's [ __ ] Now
[ __ ] go get it. Now [ __ ] get it.
Go [ __ ] pick it up. [ __ ] you." And
here's Jones. He's not throwing behind
you. Intentional. He's not throwing
behind He's not throwing behind you.
He's not throwing behind you. HE'S NOT
[ __ ] THROWING behind you. That's
[ __ ] [ __ ]
So, there you have it. And what what
came from this afterwards? I don't know.
My research stopped here. It was a good
video. It was a good suggestion. It was
brought to you by the Tasty The Talking
Yanks annual spring training
invitational. We're filming the second
ever this weekend. If you want to go
watch the first one, it's on the Talking
Yank channel. We'll link it here. Maybe
my favorite piece of content we've ever
done.
