What Happened
In a dramatic bottom of the ninth inning, the Georgia Southern Eagles are clinging to a one-run lead over their opponent. The first batter of the inning is hit by a pitch, putting the tying run on base with no outs. The next batter pokes a single just past the second baseman, advancing the runner to third base. The bullpen catcher on the Georgia Southern side is visibly excited, jumping up and down and pumping up the crowd. With an 0-2 count, the next batter hits a sharp ground ball to the third baseman, who makes a strong throw to the plate. The catcher applies the tag, but the ball comes loose - and the umpire calls the runner safe. The Georgia Southern catcher vehemently argues the call, insisting he had applied the tag. Upon further review, it's clear that the catcher's own mask inadvertently knocked the ball out of his glove as he was trying to show it to the umpire. The Georgia Southern dugout erupts in outrage over the controversial call. The catcher's father in the stands is furious, giving an animated "rock star" point in protest. The runner on the bench tries to explain that he didn't even attempt to slide, he simply tried to get out of the way. But the umpire's decision stands, putting the go-ahead run on base with no outs. With the game on the line, the next Georgia Southern batter lays down a bunt, but ends up bunting himself out. The following batter pops up to center field, failing to bring the runner home. know it looks like he kind of had a

but before the mask hit it
but the mask hits the glove and knocks
the ball out so the um the catcher is
saying i was going to just show you

and then southern just shows them this
