Boone gets ejected after ticky-tacky balk call, a breakdown
What Happened
In a tense game between the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals, tempers flare as Yankees manager Aaron Boone is ejected following a questionable balk call on Yankees pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga. The game is tied in extra innings, with the score knotted at 3-3. Loaisiga is on the mound, with Royals pinch-runner Grégor Blanco on first base. Loaisiga attempts a pickoff throw to first, but the ball gets away, allowing Blanco to advance to second base. Loaisiga has not even thrown a pitch yet, and the umpire immediately calls a balk, allowing Blanco to move to third base. Yankees manager Aaron Boone rushes out of the dugout, visibly upset with the umpire's decision. Boone argues that Loaisiga did not commit a balk, stating, "That's a terrible call. I told you to stop, and you kept going. I don't want to throw you out, but you keep going." The umpire stands firm, explaining that he saw Loaisiga start his motion and then stop, which constitutes a balk. Boone continues to express his frustration, and the umpire ultimately ejects him from the game. As Boone leaves the field, he adds, "Well, okay, you're mad. I'm mad too, I guess." Before departing, Boone also voices his displeasure with a previous call at home plate. With Blanco now on third base, the Royals' Adalberto Mondesí hits a fly ball to the outfield, and Blanco races home, scoring the tying run. The Royals have evened the score in the seventh inning, thanks to the controversial balk call and Boone's subsequent ejection. The game continues, with both teams battling to take the lead. Fans and analysts will surely debate the umpire's decision and whether the balk call was justified, adding to the drama and tension of this closely contested game between the two American League foes.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentthe yankees and the royals just played a
bizarre game it went into extras it went
back and forth back and forth but we had
an ejection
earlier on when johnny lewisga came in
to lock it down in the seventh inning he
gets his warm-up throws in
he's feeling good he's got a runner on
first base it's gerard dyson
who's in to pinch run because he's got
the speed
that his team needs and they're gonna
try and pick him off keep him honest
over there so they don't get too big of
a lead you know
so he hasn't even thrown a pitch yet
he's just trying to hold him at first
base
and now he's gonna double up the pick
off throw over there again it gets away
dyson goes to second base so now he
hasn't even thrown a pitch yet and the
pinch runner
has gotten to second base he didn't
really do anything he didn't steal it or
anything he just
moved over on an errant pick off and he
smiles and he says yeah
coming your way soon three and i don't
know it looks like voigt like could have
maybe like caught that hit his glove so
i think the error goes to the pitcher
but weird so now the wizard is on the
bump
dyson's at second he bends down he looks
in for the signs he says you know what
i'm not feeling too comfortable he steps
off home platon says that's a bock
that's a buck
now he hasn't even thrown a pitch and
the runaround first has gone from first
to second to third and this is what it
is like can you see what it is
supposedly
the umpire says that he started coming
to home plate and then
stopped it's called a start and stop
block doesn't look like anything to me
looks like he takes his back foot
and just steps off the rubber i don't
see where the start
coming to home is but box are always
ticky tacky and
i don't know maybe some of you guys can
see whatever this umpire saw because he
saw it
i mean he pointed it out right away he
said that's a buck that's a buck and
booney was not happy
he went right into stepping off
no way
terrible
and then boone walks away he puts his
mask on okay back to the game
and then boone says you know what i'm
not done and he says hey
you're gone and then boone says why the
you throw me out
what why i told you to stop
boone starts pointing into home plate
and the umpire says are you talking
about the play at the plate boone says
no i'm talking about the buck you just
called and the umpire says no
i had him start and stop i told
you to stop and you kept
going i don't want to throw you out
there i told you to stop
and you kept going i don't want to throw
you out there boone's like okay
well mad and he says well okay you're
mad i'm mad too i guess
and then he goes their separate ways and
then boone says you know what i got
something else to say
i didn't like the call at home plate
either since you brought it up i'll just
let you know
umpire says okay all right we're good to
play everyone good
now dyson's at third base lewisica
hasn't thrown a pitch
the batter puts one into the outfield
it's caught dyson's got speed he came in
as a pinch runner he goes home
judge can't throw him out and the royals
tie the game up in the seventh inning
simple as that dyson the pinch runner
comes in he gets
balked to third after going to second
on an errant pick off throw and he sits
on the bench and he just says yeah man
that's what i do that's who i am
something that i think i've showed this
before in breakdowns but i want to show
it again
when you have this camera angle is
always like five frames delayed from any
other camera angle because they don't
want to miss a pitcher throwing a pitch
in in casey quick pitches
so when you have a pick off watch this
when it changes camera angle you're
gonna
skip like five frames because now
they're skipping from the delayed
behind the pitcher camera into
the forwarded other camera so watch see
his right foot is off the ground his
left foot hasn't really moved yet
bam now his left foot is fully on the
ground his right foot is off the ground
and the ball's being thrown
so if you ever see a pick off go from
this camera angle to this camera angle
and you think like
hey that looked like it glitched a
little bit like you missed frames
because you did you did miss frames now
you know
