What Happened

In the bottom of the ninth inning of a close game between the Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves, the score is tied 3-3. Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon steps up to the plate with the game on the line. Braves catcher Francisco Cervelli had earlier in the game made an acrobatic diving play, looking like an "excited 8-year-old jumping into the couch." Cervelli, a recent Braves acquisition, has been contributing offensively as well, getting a key triple in the top of the ninth to drive in the tying run. The Braves also recently added outfielders Billy Hamilton and Abraham Almonte and all three new Braves players have played a role in the comeback effort. With the bases loaded and the game tied, McMahon digs in against the Braves' closer. The first pitch is outside, but the umpire rules the next pitch a strike despite it being similar. McMahon then unloads, smoking the ball down the line for a walk-off, game-winning home run. Rockies catcher Tony Walters, helmet off and tongue out, runs down the line to greet the celebrating McMahon at home plate. Walters initially misses the plate in his excitement but quickly corrects himself. The Rockies mob McMahon at the plate, celebrating the dramatic victory. Another Rockies player attempts to douse McMahon with Gatorade but misses, much to Walters' amusement. "That's fun watching that game with you," says the announcer. "What's your number? We should do it again sometime." The announcer then encourages viewers to visit Roosevelt's and RSVLTs websites, where they can get 20% off their next order of the companies' shirts. This walk-off home run by Ryan McMahon seals a hard-fought, back-and-forth game between the Rockies and Braves. The Rockies' recent roster additions have played pivotal roles and McMahon's heroics in the bottom of the ninth deliver the dramatic victory for the home team.
