With just 32 seconds left in an IFL game, chaos broke out after a brutal onside kick. A Massachusetts Pirates player took a hard hit, stayed down briefly, then walked off—only to get taunted by a kid in the stands. The player marched into the stands to confront the kid, prompting a woman to shout that the kid was just a child. A man with a goatee, who seemed to be trying to keep peace, stepped in to calm things down but got pulled into the heated scene himself.
Tensions escalated as more fans and players got involved. One man yelling from the crowd was picked up by someone from the team and thrown. Another nearby fan, who had nothing to do with it, looked stunned. Goatee guy tried to keep control but shoved someone, which led to him getting pulled down and into the middle of it. He looked like he took a shot to the face and was eventually escorted out.
The worst part played out right above a woman and her two small kids in the front row. As the fight spilled over, players were pulled into the stands directly above them. The mom shielded her kids while grown men brawled a few feet away. A woman off-camera could be heard shouting that enough was enough, but the melee didn’t calm down right away. The kids looked terrified, and it’s hard to blame them. It was a dangerous situation that could have ended much worse.
