Batter knows bat is broken then hits a “home run”, a breakdown

Grace Harris put on a show in the Women’s Big Bash League, hammering runs with a broken bat and cracking jokes in the process. She was already on 64 off 35 balls when her bat started to fall apart. After a swing, she looked down, noticed the handle had loosened, and shrugged it off, saying, “Stuff it, I’ll still hit it.” Then she crushed it for six. The ball sailed over the boundary while the bat split, its top half flying off and nearly hitting her partner.

She laughed it off, saying loose bats sometimes hit better. The handle stayed in her hand, and she clearly wasn’t wrong. She’d planned to name the bat the McSpicy, but it never got a name and didn’t survive the innings. After swapping it out, she checked the new one, then immediately sent another ball over for six. Later, she followed up with a four and kept piling on. Harris finished by breaking the single-game scoring record in WBBL history. One of her sixes came from a bat held together by luck.
