The Yankees had some fun after a big win. Mike Tauchman started it with a deep shot off Ian Kennedy. Billy Hamilton chased it down but had no chance. Tyler Wade and others scored as the bench went wild. Thairo Estrada, newly called up, dropped a bunt to help keep things moving, while Brett Gardner sprinted in and quickly exited to let the younger guys take over.
Domingo Germán and Masahiro Tanaka joined the celebration and threw a few quick taps before backing off. Tauchman kept the energy up, Wade gave his thanks, and C.C. Sabathia and Aaron Judge shared a laugh. Judge had been a little late arriving to avoid any chance of injury. Gio Urshela worked a walk, keeping the momentum going. Gardner joked to Sabathia that the game got busted open by that “bum Kennedy,” then pointed out Judge and nodded toward the Gatorade.
That’s when things got weird. Gardner pulled a sneak attack, hopped the dugout fence, and flanked the cooler from the far end. Kyle Higashioka stood by with sunflower seeds like backup ammo. Luke Voit got the job done at the plate, and Gardner decided the prank was finished. He nodded and walked off, happy with the win and the chaos.
