Pitcher catches a comebacker in his jersey, a breakdown

A chaotic half-inning unfolded in Taiwan’s baseball league, packed with defensive blunders, unlucky breaks, and frustration. It started with a routine fly ball to left that popped out of the fielder’s glove. That led to a pitching change, but the new arm was rattled from the start. He thought he had strike three, didn’t get the call, and walked the batter. Clearly upset, he faced the next hitter, who ripped one to left. The same left fielder came in too aggressively, couldn’t stop it, and the ball rolled all the way to the wall. The center fielder backed it up and started a relay to third, but the throw went wild and the runner scored.

Somehow the pitcher regrouped to get two outs, but things kept spiraling. He hit the next batter—not even his body, just clipped the jersey. Then came one of the strangest plays. A ball deflected and got stuck inside the batter’s jersey. He claimed he caught it, proudly showing it off, but the umpire reminded everyone of the naked catch rule: if you couldn’t catch it without clothes, it doesn’t count. Everyone was confused. Next batter lined one to right. It looked playable, maybe even catchable, but went over the fielder’s head. That was the last straw. The pitcher walked off, clearly done, while his manager stared out from the dugout in disbelief.
