Mexican Winter League teams get into two brawls, a breakdown

A wild brawl broke out in a Mexican baseball league game after a batter took a pitch to the knee and charged the mound. He led with a left and quickly switched to a big right hook. The pitcher dodged it with a leap that made him look like he belonged on a highlight reel. For a moment, he looked like the toughest guy out there. Then he grabbed his glove and tried to fire it back at the batter’s face. He lost his footing, stumbled on the turf, and ended up awkwardly bumping into the ump.

The umpire saw it all, including a bat getting thrown, and started dishing out warnings. A retaliation hit happened later in the game, and more pushing and shoving followed. But the most consistent performers weren’t any of the players. It was the bat boys. Number 2 calmly picked up gloves and helmets in the middle of the chaos, ignoring the fights and sticking to his job. Another worker stayed on the sideline, trying to keep order without getting in the mix. Even when a fan threw a drink at him, he barely reacted.

Throughout the melee, these bat boys kept collecting the stray gear, moving quickly and staying out of trouble. One even tossed a helmet to his partner and made sure he didn’t forget it. When a batting helmet flew out again, he dashed straight for it without hesitation. While the players threw punches, the bat boys cleaned up the mess. Quietly, efficiently, and without missing a step.
