Brusdar Graterol came out firing for the Dodgers and turned a regular relief appearance into a show. The righty lit up the radar gun, touching 100 mph with ease and featuring sharp breaking stuff to back it up. Against Kyle Tucker, he overpowered him with fastballs before flipping an 88 mph off-speed pitch that left Tucker out in front. After that, Graterol went right back to gas, getting a swinging strike on a high heater to finish the at-bat.
Next up, Martín Maldonado had no better luck. Graterol opened with a 100 mph fastball, followed by a sharp 88 mph slider. Sitting 0-2, the catcher wanted off-speed again, but Graterol insisted on power. He hit 101 before eventually dropping that filthy 90 mph slider to get the swinging strikeout. Maldonado had no shot and knew it.
Then came George Springer, and Graterol didn’t let up. He mixed 100 mph heat inside with a wicked 87–88 mph slider, tunneling both pitches so well they looked identical until the last split second. Springer geared up for another fastball but whiffed badly on the slider. Graterol wrapped up the outing by getting Springer to roll one over. The whole sequence lasted just three batters, but Graterol made every pitch count. He might not have a big role yet, but this was a reminder why he’s a weapon in the Dodgers pen.
