Blackmon hits a walk-off two-run homer and the Rockies celebrate, a breakdown

The Rockies walked it off in dramatic fashion, trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the 12th with two outs and two strikes. Charlie Blackmon came through with the clutch hit to end the game, catching both the crowd and the opposing pitcher off guard. The pitcher thought he had strike three, but instead, it was game over. The stadium erupted, and the Rockies dugout sprang into action.

Ryan McMahon was the first over the railing, sprinting onto the field. Third base coach kept his cool as Blackmon rounded third, gave a quick nod of approval, and let the celebration unfold. Blackmon tossed his helmet and broke into some kind of dance move that nobody could quite identify. Ian Desmond nailed a perfect water toss, landing it directly on Blackmon while mostly sparing the rest of the group. That splash got some admiration from the team.

The camera caught a few quieter moments too. Tony Wolters, who had walked earlier that inning, got a shoutout for setting it all up. Chad Bettis stood back, clearly relieved. He had given up the lead in the top half of the inning and understood that Blackmon’s hit saved him from being the scapegoat. When he finally stepped in, it wasn’t to jump around but to offer a genuine thank you hug. A wild finish, a tight team, and a celebration that had a little bit of everything.
