Bryce Harper gets ejected and calls the ump a cry baby, a breakdown

Bryce Harper and Giants manager Gabe Kapler were both tossed from a game last week after a bizarre and testy sequence at the plate. Harper faced a mix of curveballs and a questionable fastball call that was clearly off the plate. The umpire gave the pitcher the benefit of the doubt, which didn’t sit well with Harper. He argued the check swing and the strike zone, but didn’t initially get tossed. Kapler came out moments later to defend his player and had a few words of his own, leading to his ejection.

Things escalated from there. Bryce clearly wasn’t done and exchanged more words with the umpire. He turned his cap backward, grabbed his glove, and lit the ump up with a string of insults. The video shows Harper calling the ump sensitive and a loser, dropping several expletives in the process. A full-blown roast session followed, with Harper letting out weeks of frustration in one fiery rant. It was one of the more animated ejections this season. Both Harper and Kapler showed they weren’t interested in holding back.
