Tony Wolters tried to steal the show with a bold move at third, but it didn’t stick. After slicing a ball down the line and hustling to third, he attempted a delayed steal of home. Kyle Tucker had him the whole way and made the tag. The ump initially called Wolters safe, leaving everyone stunned. Even Ian Happ, who was coming up and poised to hit, looked confused and slightly annoyed he might lose an RBI. Wolters returned to the dugout to some wild, confused applause. Players and fans tried to make sense of it. Then the umpires went to replay. After a closer look, they reversed the call. Out. Wolters could only shrug it off as a missed chance. Probably should’ve waited for the bat.
