Mascot gets mad at umpire

Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald nearly ended the inning with a borderline strike call, but the umpire didn’t give it to him. Fans wanted it, Sewald wanted it, and even Baxter the D-backs mascot lost it. Baxter caught a towel, threw it down, and started yelling at the umpire in frustration. It felt less like a mascot moment, more like a fan in a costume losing his cool.

Despite the missed call, Sewald didn’t let it rattle him. He came back with a sharp slider on the next pitch to finish the at-bat and send the game to the bottom of the ninth tied. The crowd exploded once he got the out, with fans yelling and celebrating throughout the stadium.
