Anthony Volpe hits a grand slam in the World Series, a breakdown

The Dodgers came into Game 4 of the World Series leading 3–0, one win away from a sweep, but the Yankees weren’t done. After getting hit on the hand by a pitch, Aaron Judge stayed in the game and reached third base following a Jazz Chisholm single. Giancarlo Stanton had a strange at-bat that ended with him getting hit on the knuckles but still being ruled out because he swung. With two on and one out, the Yankees loaded the bases after Jazz stole second and Stanton walked. Rizzo popped out, and things looked bleak for New York with two outs and everything on the line.

Then Anthony Volpe stepped in and crushed the first pitch for a grand slam. The Yankees flipped a 2–1 deficit into a 5–2 lead. The dugout erupted. Volpe got mobbed after crossing the plate. Judge and Volpe celebrated with a wild forearm bash. At just 23 years and 184 days old, Volpe became the fourth youngest player ever to hit a grand slam in the World Series. In the next inning, he added a nice defensive play, helping turn what looked like a double play. The crowd was fired up. The Yankees showed they still had life.
