Kike Hernadez takes Josh Hader deep to give the Dodgers the lead, a breakdown.

With two outs in the top of the eighth and the game tied 2-2, the Brewers called on Josh Hader to shut things down. He had already thrown 31 pitches and was facing Enrique Hernández, who was hitless in five career at-bats against him. Hader started strong with a high 94 mph fastball that blew by Hernández. The next pitch came inside for strike two, and although Hernández didn’t like the call, he knew he had to swing from here out.

Milwaukee fans were ready to celebrate, thinking Hader would finish the inning and keep the game tied. But instead of wasting a pitch on 0-2, Hader went with another fastball, this time right over the heart of the plate. Hernández was ready. He turned on it and crushed it for a three-run shot, his first hit ever against Hader. It marked just the second time in Hader’s career he gave up three earned runs in a single outing. The Dodgers took the lead late, and the dugout went wild. Turner, Hernández, and the rest of the squad celebrated a clutch moment that flipped the game.
